Supplying Digital Images
Image resolution should be 300dpi and saved as CMYK in any of the following formats: Jpeg, Tiff, EPS or PDF Please supply all originations to exactly the size you wish the final card to be with a minimum of 2mm bleed to all edges. When trimming out the cards, we will trim off approximately 1-2mm all round the edge of the card, so please ensure that important images are kept away from the outer edges by at least 3mm, where possible supply artwork with bleed.
We are currently using the Adobe CS5 Suite including Indesign, Illustrator & Photoshop so any of these format files can be accepted. For the reverse of your cards we can set or see (Reverse of cards) below.
Supplying Colour Photographic Prints (Same Size):
All postcards etc., featured in our brochure, are produced from original photographs supplied by the customer.
The photograph(s) should be a standard Gloss, or Matt finish Not Cibachrome.
Images should be continuous tone and not of a dot formation.
Supplying Colour Transparencies (Slides):
All commercial packages allow you to send transparencies (the larger the better).
Originals (Paintings, Drawings etc.):
Previously printed pictures etc., can be accepted as artwork, we cannot guarantee the quality during our scanning process, due to rescreening/screen clash. Thought Factory cannot accept any responsibility for damage to original artwork, whilst in our possession, or in transit.
Black & White / Colour Photocopies & Laser Jet Copies / Image Size:
Colour photocopies can be used to produce cards, as long as the image provided is Not made from a dot formation. Line or continuous tone colour copies, from bubble jet laser printers, give better results, as dots cause screen clash and inconsistency when scanning. Black and White images are scanned and printed using ALL of the four CMYK
colours, because of this process a colour cast may occur in the final print run.
Reverse of Cards:
Up to fifty words of text, printed in black, on the reverse, are included in the price. You can supplying your own layout on disk saved as a PDF or any of the Adobe CS5 Suite software packages including: Indesign, Illustrator & Photoshop along with the fonts used for your design. If you wish us to set your text then please select a typestyle from the standard ones used, by ticking the box on the order form. If you wish to use a typestyle, which is not included in our list, please supply name, or a sample and we will endeavour to match same. Also, on the reverse of the cards we print the words Post Card, our credit, address lines and stamp box. However, we are happy to omit these, if requested in writing, or alternatively tick the appropriate box on the order form.
Delivery Service:
Included in our price is a standard 1 - 2 working day delivery service from date of despatch
Carriage to the Republic of Ireland, Scottish Highlands and the E.U., incur an extra charge and prices are available on request.
Payment:
A cheque for the full amount or credit card details will be required with your order, before work can proceed. Cheques should be made payable to: Thought Factory.
All prices are subject to V.A.T. and are inclusive of delivery to one U.K. mainland address.
All goods will be held prior to despatch until full payment has been received.
